Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at an urban school for newcomers. Our students come from over 30 countries. We teach English (the language) and ELA (the content) simultaneously. Over the past year I've been integrating art into the classes in order to provide the students additional ways to access the material and to express their ideas. These art-integrations happened sort of 'on the fly' and with whatever materials I could access with no additional funding.
I want to Art-ify the ELA curriculum for next year!
Next year I want to formalize and expand these elements next year. This project is to fund the supplies to make that happen.
