My students need basic art supplies including markers, paint and crayons along with books about the lives about famous artists so they have the background knowledge and tools to create their own masterpieces.

My Students
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. I strive to find the strengths in each student. I would love to develop these strengths by exploring the history and geography of the world through art.

My students love learning about ancient civilizations and using their newly acquired knowledge and of history and geography to create their own version of period specific art projects.
My Project
These books, markers, paints, pencils and paper will enable my class to take a journey through art history.
Our journey through art history will start with Prehistoric Art (cave paintings), Egyptian Art (hieroglyphics) and Roman Art (mosaics).
We will read stories about cavemen, ancient Egypt, and ancient Rome and create our own versions of cave paintings, write our names in heiroglyphics and make a mosiac tile.
We will then move on to more recent art history including Renaissance Art (Leonardo DaVinci), Baroque Art (Rembrandt), Romantic Art (Turner), Impressionist Art (Monet), Post Impressionist Art (Van Gogh and Serat) and will finish with Abstract Art (Mondrian). After we learn about each artist and time period using the requested books, we will create our own masterpieces in the style of the artist and time period studied.
