My students need dot paints, tagboard and ink pads to create masterpieces to accompany their projects. They need a drying rack and line to showcase their pieces.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sir Hendrey's classroom raised $258
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Tell me about your picture." I say this many times throughout the day. My students are learning to tell about their artwork using descriptive language. More importantly, they are learning to tell me in English.
Our school is an applied learning school where students' learning is primarily through project based activities.
The students are eager to learn. The majority of students in my class are English language learners. Because students are learning English, we focus on reading fluency and vocabulary development.
My Project
With these materials, my students will be able to create works of art to accompany their writing, math and science projects. Students will be able to work independently on their masterpieces when using the dot paint markers and ink pads. Once their work is completed, they will be able to hang it on the drying rack where it will dry safely and then display it in the classroom for all to see.
This project is so important because all students love to create.
Since many of my students are learning English, their paintings will tell a story that they may not have the vocabulary to tell yet. They will begin to verbalize what they've been thinking all along.
