My Students

Sadly the arts are being taken out of public education. My dream was to become an art teacher but it is a dying profession. So, my way to make sure the students at my school still get exposed to the arts was to start an afterschool art program.

Art brings confidence and a creative outlet for children.

I am currently a 4th-grade teacher and every year so many students in my class want to express themselves through art. I have always encouraged it but with so much focus being put on the reading and math curriculum, there is very little time for my students to express themselves.

My Project

Art expands a child's creativity. Art provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, but it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development.

Art is a source of confidence in a child that may struggle in other areas of education.

I feel that it is important to show my students all different aspects of art such as painting, sketching, watercolors, perspective, cross-hatching, stippling, and most of all just being creative and using their feelings to create amazing pieces of art. Your donation would allow our children's creativity to reach their full potential.
