This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." - Albert Einstein. I have created a community service project to give my students the chance to create art and headphone kits for the first graders at a local equity-focused school. The materials in the project are to help my students give to a cause beyond our classroom and meet the needs of students like them who attend our sister school. Our school district is very large and serves a variety of communities. Our sister school serves a lower SES community and we do what we can to support them.

Giving to those who have less, teaches children an incredible lesson in giving.

We would like to help the first-grade team provide their students with the materials they need, headphones, small craft kits, a label maker (to label the headphones), and bags to carry the kits. Finally, the notebooks will be used for my students to write about their community service experience to share their learning with their families.

Kindness is the daily focus of our class...we are The Kindness Kingdom and we love to give to others! Help me create this community-giving project to fulfill a need for headphones and art kits for firsties!! Teaching about generosity is a life lesson that cannot be forgotten. Please help me engage my students in community service while we meet the needs of local first graders.
