Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love teaching art and want to share my love of art with my student s. I have been restricted in what I can teach my students in the past because the materials needed for specific projects were unavailable due to limited supply bud ts. We are not allowed to ask our families to provide supplies for our students, so often, I use my own money to purchase these extra materials for my students.
Students should experience multiple art mediums in the classroom throughout the year.
This project will provide several medium types, including paint (watercolor and Kwik Stix), modeling clay, oil pastels, crayons, and colored pe cells. It will also provide a book called "The Dot" for inspiration and an individual box where each student will keep their supplies in all ears. They will decorate it and take it and all the supplies home at the end of the year.
Students are often happiest when they are creating and exploring new mate als. Their eyes light up when a brand new set of crayons or paints is given to hem. Imagine their delight when they learn they get to take them home at the end of the year, too.
