Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are avid learners! They are ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) and art is something that hits all of their benchmarks. These would be cognitive functions, fine and gross motor skills, mathematics, etc. They will hit all these benchmarks as well as learning coping skills and social and emotional aspects that are embedded within their lessons. These items will make a difference in the students learning because they will have opportunity to make art that is really interactive. This allows for the students to have full engagement in their learning. My students are my FIRST class that I have ever taught. They are all adventurous and willing to learn anything that is presented to them. I love that they are always willing to help others, play with new friends, and patient with one another. The canvases will allow the students make memorable art they can keep forever, the label maker and the pocket labels will help with keeping the classroom organized and easily accessible. Coming from a Special Ed classroom most of the items that I have requested are to help the students with all of their benchmarks and art projects that help teach them their colors, shapes, and having a blast with all of their classmates. The treasure box toys are to help them earn positive reinforcements at the end of the week. A lot of my students use school as their outlet, they are free here to be their own person and fall in love with areas of centers that truly help them and enhance their learning experience.
