This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Art is not merely an extracurricular activity but a vital component of education that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression. By providing art supplies within the library, we can offer students a space for exploration, experimentation, and relaxation, thereby enhancing their educational experience and overall well-being.

Art supplies, including colored pencils, crayons, markers, two rolls of paper, and coloring books, will encourage students to think outside the box, explore new ideas, and express themselves in innovative ways.

In addition, art intersects with various academic subjects, including history, science, literature, and mathematics. Through art projects, students can explore and deepen their understanding of these subjects in a creative and interdisciplinary manner.

Art offers a therapeutic outlet for students to relieve stress, anxiety, and tension. Art also provides a medium for students to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a nonverbal and cathartic manner. And finally, art fosters a sense of community and belonging by encouraging collaboration, sharing, and appreciation of diverse perspectives.

By providing opportunities for creative expression, we can empower students to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
