Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The specific items we're asking for—puzzles, acrylic paints, canvases, and a rolling cart—will make a big difference in our students' learning. These tools will help them to explore art in new and exciting ways. Puzzles can boost problem-solving skills and teamwork while acrylics and canvases allow students to experiment with color, texture, and composition. The rolling cart will let us move art supplies easily from room to room, making it simpler to set up art projects anywhere in the school.

Our goals for this project are to encourage creativity and support our students' social-emotional growth.

Art can be a way for students to express their feelings and connect with others. We want to create a space where they can explore their own ideas and work together on projects. Through art, we aim to build a positive classroom community and help our students gain confidence.

What makes our students special is that they are a diverse group of 9th and 10th graders who really love art. They come from different backgrounds and have unique experiences, but they all share a passion for creating. This project will give them more opportunities to explore their creativity and learn from each other.
