My Students

My students have an intense desire to learn and dive into new projects and activities full steam ahead, it's up to me to keep them on their toes. I am fortunate to teach at a school where students are presented with opportunities from their families to learn and explore in the world that many other kids don't receive. However, I am faced with an enormous need in my classroom to find ways to extend student learning and enrich their experiences within the classroom.

My Project

Having oil pastels and watercolors for each of the students will enrich their art lessons and experience as well as expose them to various mediums used to create a final product. I am an art minor, so I am always looking for ways to incorporate my love of art into teaching opportunities. I plan to use these different mediums to teach about famous artists and their style of work as well as the medium used to accomplish their beautiful work, then help the kids create pieces of their own using oil pastels, watercolors, as well as other art supplies! I believe by incorporating these different things into my art education, students will find new interests as well as boost their own creativity! Growing art appreciation is so important to me and these materials will help!
