My Students
I work with a diverse group of four and five year old students. They come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and family structures. My students have a wide range of ability levels and needs. They love coming to school to interact with their friends and learn something new.
When my students walk into the classroom they are filled with curiosity and excitement about everything around them.
As this is many of my students first school experience, I hope to create a positive classroom environment that inspires my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
My students love to express their unique and creative selves through art. Art helps my students increase their fine motor skills, their attention and concentration. It is also a way for them to express their thoughts and ideas when words and writing do not come easily.
It is amazing to watch the light bulb go off when a student mixes blue and yellow paint and realizes it makes green and then continues to experiment and find out what other color combinations can make.
This project will allow my students to continue to experiment and create with high quality art materials. They will be able to mix paint that resembles their beautiful and individual style while creating self-portraits or using fine tip markers to add small polka-dots to the tail of a shark. This access to a variety of art supplies will help my students share their voice with the world!
