My Students

I have a group of approximately 20, five year old kindergarten students entering my classroom this school year. For the most part, they have never experienced being in a classroom. So this Kindergarten experience is new to them, and their parents, who seem to have a harder time letting go. Some of them have very little experience with following basic directions, and have to get used to being away from Mom and Dad for a long period of time.

Most of them enter the classroom with a smile, and are eager to please.

While some of them cry for the first couple days, sometimes weeks, eventually they adjust to being in my class.

My Project

By having an art easel that stores many of the supplies in one place, such as the vinyl paint aprons, color me supply caddy, which holds the tempera paint and bristle paint brushes and newsprint easel paper, this will help students enjoy their art time and be neat as well!

By giving them options on different ways to appreciate art at a very young age, my students will learn the value of using their imagination and creativity to enhance their artistic ability.

The dough, dot art painters, no spill paint, large crayons, and construction paper are all ways to help them explore these options. They will be eager to go to the art center each day.

Art is always a favorite center for our students to enjoy with a partner, or independently. It relaxes them and allows them to create whatever they like freely. Through this project, they will enjoy it even more!

I'm excited to see how my students will react to such a fun place to go to enjoy in our classroom with these added materials!
