This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and academic backgrounds. However, most of my students come from low-income households. Many of them are new to the public school system, but all are excited to be in school. Since they are all 5 years old, but most cannot YET read, but they love being read to.

They know there are high classroom expectations, and they strive to achieve them and be successful day after day.

Our classroom motto is to "be your best every day!"

My Project

We currently do not have a safe place for the students to dry their amazing art work. For this reason, we do not paint as often as I would like for lack of drying space. My hope is that with this new drying rack the students will have many more opportunities to paint and then have a place for their work to dry. Art is a wonderful way for students to learn and I would like for them to have the opportunity to explore their creativity more often than not.
