My Students

" You can't use up CREATIVITY the more you use it, the more you have it!"-- Maya Angelou

My job is to create an educational environment that is warm and safe for my students.

I want their learning experience to be meaningful and exciting! My students are thriving learners who are ready to be engaged in the journey of learning! Our school is IB. We apply the core principals of the IB curriculum to develop our students into global learners. Our students are encouraged to apply their learner profiles at school and their home environment.

My Project

I teach at an IB school. My students have different artifacts that they have to produce for their portfolios. After each unit, I create a variety of different creative art activities that they choose from or they have the opportunity to create their own that demonstrates their understanding of unit. Our next units will focus on the sun, moon, and Earth. During this unit, we incorporate the Arts to create poems and plays to explain the seasons, we will create a variety of 3D models that explains night and day and how the sun, moon, and Earth are related to each other.

Unfortunately, the majority of my students are not equipped with technology at home to do research.

They do not have basic art supplies at home to create visuals to express themselves. Some of my parents do not have extra money to purchase supplies as well as, time to create quality products with their child. This project will allow my students to deepen their conceptual and interpersonal skills. My goal is to take an abstract concepts and have many students produce concrete ART!
