Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is in a rural corner of Arizona. Students have to travel for groceries, work, and other needs. This limits our student’s vision and understanding of the uses of art in the world around them.
We want to help them to explore this world through drawing, watercolor, and markers.
Art Club is more than the arts and crafts made at the end of the day in class to highlight the week’s unit.
We want our students to learn to produce on paper the picture they have in their minds. Our school budget does not allow for materials that can produce the quality of experience for the students that makes a difference in the end result.
We have local artists volunteering their time to work with students to teach them how to draw, shade, use color, and present their work at the community art museum student show.
I hope you can help us get quality supplies that will enhance our students’ experience with art.
