This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I public school in a diverse community. Our school is one of seven high schools in our city and has a student population of roughly two thousand children.

My students are enthusiastic learners looking for a way to express their inner thoughts and emotions.

The arts allows them such an opportunity. But with very limited supplies on hand their ability to do so is also limited. Help me give this young generation a safe place for them to learn and grow and become happy productive citizens.

My Project

I am requesting paper stumps, drawing pencils, sharpeners, pens, erasers and drawing kits. These resources would be used to provide socially distant art learning experience in the classroom. Due to Covid-19 restrictions on how and what supplies that can be used safely and with already limited resources it is a constant struggle to teach meaningful art lessons that engage the students. This donation will help students have hands on experience with high quality art supplies they may never have an opportunity to use again. The arts are desperately needed now more than ever to help these students work through some of the emotional stresses life and society are putting on them. These students are dealing with unprecedented demands and fears that will have untold consequences to their lives. Please help me provide a safe and healthy environment for these students to mature grow and learn.
