Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a Tittle III school, one school that is thriving to bring a successful year for all students. Our school serves a low-income community. This New Year, we want to bring an after-school program that engages students to learn through arts. Our students are middle school girls that are very creative; enjoy art, craft, and hands-on activities.

My students do not have basic drawing and art materials to express themselves through art.

My project will give my students art and drawing materials to help and support their creativity. Through art, students have the opportunity to expand their horizons of learning, increase their self-confidence and self-esteem. Additionally, the art program will enhance students’ cultural awareness, innovation, inventiveness, and perseverance.

Using the correct art materials will allow students to engage actively with the teacher’s direct instruction. Further, students will explore different types of art and make meaningful connection through uniquely nurturing lessons, engaging with a positive approach to art education.
