Help me give my students a colored printer for art class! We always need handouts and resources and a printer would help us become better artists so that we can print those necessary resources.
My students are between ages 5-12 and live in a large urban setting where more than three quarters of the students come from low income households. These students love art class and are interested in really exploring all of the different materials and all that the art world has to offer.
They are ambitious and determined to beat all obstacles that come their way.
Most of them love art because it is a safe haven where they can continue to grow, discover themselves and discover more of the world around them!
My Project
When I teach my students any lesson, I always include print outs of artists and their work, how to draw or step by step handouts, and other resources they need. This helps them not only have a better understanding or the topic we are learning about, but helps to meet the needs of all students, especially those who need visuals and multi-step instructions.
We had an ancient black and white printer that we used, which was better than nothing, but it recently broke and now we no longer have a printer.
We are already feeling the difference of not having access to the resources I mentioned above. Please consider helping us obtain a new printer!
