My Students

I am the art teacher of 25 amazing, loving, talented students. Typical students at my school have a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, Autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities. This can also range from moderate to severe. These students face challenges every day, but always come to school with smiles on their faces and are willing to learn and explore!

Many have never experienced the wonderful world of art!

I want to give them all the opportunities I can!

My Project

Art Education is the core of Education. Bringing art to special needs students has proven to boost focus, behavior, social skills and well as imagination! Using centers in Special Education has been show to be beneficial to all students. Each center has a structured activity and a time frame. For students who have difficulty focusing, centers is a perfect avenue for learning. Help me bring this to life!

These art centers will be sculpture exploration, 3D building, tactile arts, fine arts and more.

From blocks to clay, each of these items will be used in an assigned center as a students preferred activity.
