This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are advanced thinkers; preparing for their future in law or other public speaking roles. Additionally, they are innovators and creators of the world.
Through art, we will conceptualize text, bringing stories to life; creating meaning and purpose to the text, and applying problem solving skills, which are essential after Covid-19 to increase reading comprehension.
Students will be using these art supplies (markers, crayons, construction paper) needed in preparation of Individual Events as well as typical projects one may see in a day-to-day classroom, providing connections in the text to background knowledge and build on that. Additionally, students will be learning about the world around them using visual AND performance art; as these art forms have largely been lost since the pandemic.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
