Art Books for Exploration

Help me give my students books that inspire them with many art styles, art skills, artistic media, and different artists.

My Project

By donating to this project, you will be helping me build a classroom library that is rich with books that highlight different artists and art concepts. These books will help all of my students (K-6: 350 students in all) to explore new artists and art styles independently or in groups. They will also be used to inspire new learning and activate the desire to try new techniques and artistic processes through reading about different concepts that I can't cover in our limited art class time.

This library will allow students in kindergarten through sixth grade to independently discover and research artists, skills, periods, and styles during planned research activities, as well as extra time opportunities for fast finishers.

Younger students (K-3) will be excited to find examples of how artists use the elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, value, space, and form) in their works. Older students will be able to research artists or styles and share their findings with their peers. They will also be able to find examples of artists' use of the elements and principles of design.

This will be a great asset to our classroom! Thank you for considering this project.
