My Students
I teach in a wonderful, small community in the Bronx. The last few days of school I bagged as many art materials as I could for students so they could continue art at home. Each week my students come to my Google Meetings enthusiastic and excited to learn about this week’s project and share what they have created. However, each meet I find more and more kids who do not have materials and for many of them this is their only creative outlet that draws them away from their computers that they sit at most of the day. I would love to be able to give them more opportunities to create art with more types of materials.
My Project
These materials will bring art alive at home. It will give students the opportunity to continue what they were learning in school and create projects they will be proud of.
Teaching art remotely is a challenge, but these materials will make it easier to create a broader range of exciting lessons my students will be able to participate in and share their experience with family members at home.
Some students do not have any art materials at home and this project will allow them to create amazing art equally like their classmates.
