My Students
Imagine a world in which art and tech collide. That is what my students experience daily in our classroom. My students attend a magnet school in the heart of Chicago. They are a diverse group of students who reside in neighborhoods all over the city. Several of our students speak multiple languages and and participate in a variety of cultural practices.
These middle schoolers have a distinct love for learning and are not afraid of a challenge.
They are the future innovators and leaders of our world!
My Project
This 5-day Pathfinder Summer Institute will prepare me to be able to integrate the two amazing subjects that I teach, visual art and technology. This institute will equip me with the tools to facilitate a rigorous robotics curriculum that will unleash the possibilities that coding has to offer while maintaining aspects of art and design.
As a result of this summer institute, I will be able to implement cross-curricular STEAM projects with my students.
This will also be a great opportunity for me to connect and collaborate with other amazing computer science and visual art educators from around the country.
