Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my class are beginning to love reading, developing advanced writing skills, and being introduced to new math topics. They are excited to learn and are very creative. They are also working on building a growth mindset. Many students do not have access to books outside of my classroom. We are a Title I school and all students have access to free lunches.
My Project
The art supplies will allow the students to design, build, and have a creative outlet for self-expression using quality materials.
Mastering skills, completing art projects and learning to express themselves in new ways will help my students gain confidence and perseverance.
Having appropriate materials for an art project, like watercolor paper, paints, and a variety of brushes will allow for more detailed work and a sense of care for the process and the final product.
The bright colored Astrobright paper and card stock will be used with the oil pastels and as part of engineering projects.
