My Project

I would like to provide the students in my self-contained classroom with art and sensory activities throughout the day to help them learn. The supplies I have requested will give them the opportunity to engage in activities that they love while helping them develop fine motor skills. By giving them sensory breaks, my students will be able to self-regulate which in turn will increase their attention and focus. This will assist in their continued learning throughout the school day.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and do not have access to these materials in their everyday lives.

They also have various disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, and learning differences. Having access to these materials and activities such as sensory dough, tempera paint, watercolor pens, sensory spheres, mosaic center and modeling foam will help my students improve their motor planning, coordination, through sensory integration in a fun, supportive environment. Please help us integrate art and sensory activities throughout the day to ensure that my students will continue to grow, thrive, and learn.
