My students are a group of enthusiastic and creative learners who learn best through hands-on experiences. As a teacher, working in a Title One school with students who are from an extremely low-income household, in which all my students qualify for free lunch. It makes me fight harder to provide my students with the many experiences they may never have. As I listen to them working with their partners, there is evidence of energy, creativity, and enriched conversations heard throughout the room.
It is quite evident when students become exposed to a variety of art and musical activities; it enables them when visiting museums and musical concerts to have a deeper appreciation.
As an educator, I am aware that students do learn best by having a voice to spark their knowledge, and implementing arts allows them to use their imagination to relate to their education in a meaningful and purposeful way.
Studies have shown that art and music enables a student to learn best, by having the opportunities to grow their talents in multiples ways. The materials I have requested will be used to support our music and art program which is severely lacking. These materials, such as the paints, butcher paper, and clay are designated to decorate the auditorium in which the students can share their creativity to show their representation of Spring. The learning goal established will incorporate a deeper insight into music and artwork. Moreover, it will allow students to actively participate in showcasing their artwork on a mural and performing through dance, acting or singing. Our school has cultural-based assemblies, and with these supplies, the students will be able to decorate the auditorium to connect to their learning and to work collaboratively.

The use of the wireless speaker and microphones will enable students to have audio equipment available, as they rehearse songs, skits, and poems to reveal a unique hidden talent for the school community. As the students share their talents through songs, rehearse lines, or dance this will bring confidence within each child and lasting memories for their families in the audience.
