This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fantastic students love learning through play. That is exactly what we do with our STEAM (STEM + Art) lessons. Sometimes we paint, sometimes we engineer clay boats and see if we can make them float. By integrating multiple modes of studies, the learning becomes powerful.
Access to books within the STEAM classroom will provide valuable language skills and a fun way to reach even my English language learners.
One example of this process, I was struggling to grab a large class of Kindergartners attention, I found a large book about dinosaurs and used it to teach them about texture. Success! It was the first successful lesson in a new school year, I almost cried.
