This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The 21st-century library is a place where learning is beyond books and factual knowledge. It is a place to wonder, dream, collaborate, investigate, build, try, fail, try again, discover, and create as well as read. Our students are busy diving into learning school work and deepening individual passions and we strive to create that safe place where students can find others with similar interests and help the positive community grow.

Our students love to express themselves!

Help us grow that artistic individuality and strengthen our community of creators. Our middle school students are social creatures by nature, and we want to encourage those Random Acts of Kindness.

My Project

My students love to express themselves! We want to connect art and social-emotional skills. Some students have real artistic talent and some are beginning. ZenTangle is a drawing art form for those of us who have difficulty with stick figures. Using the ZenTangle guides, or their own artistic talent, we will create buttons and key chains as small tokens of our appreciation for the people who make a difference in our lives. By allowing our students to choose who to recognize, a parent, a bus driver, or a favorite teacher, they will practice that empathy muscle that is so critical to developing as an integrated, caring human being.
