it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title I school in Houston, Texas that is a wonderful, small, tight knit community. We are working on cultural enrichment of our school, as it is in an isolated part of Houston. This year, we are starting a musical theater club that will put on a winter and spring musical. To do these shows, we need many materials because our school has never had any type of drama or music program. Help us give our kids the best!
My Project
If my project is funded, my students will get the opportunity to do both a winter and spring musical. They will learn about music, dance, staging, set design, and art. By doing so, they will broaden their cultural horizons, and they will hopefully be inspired to pursue the arts in the future. Some may even go on to attend one of the many creative arts magnet schools that are available in Houston. If you fund this project, you will also be giving our kids memories of their elementary school they will never forget. In addition, you will also provide the school with props for this musical, such as pirate hats, flags, bandannas, set design items, and trunks to store all of the materials in. These items are all reusable so that the school can do this musical multiple times with different children in the future. Please consider funding this important project today!
