This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher at a Title I school in Greenville, South Carolina. My school is a high-poverty school where all students receive free lunch and free breakfast.
At my school, "Every Student Counts, and Every Moment Matters!" We want the moments that matter most to be those in which our students learn not only the curriculum but life lessons that will carry them through their teenage years and into adulthood.
The students overcome obstacles every day in our school from language barriers to essential needs, but they still come to school with a smile on their faces. I want to make their 5th grade year as special as possible. To do that, I need your help!
My Project
Traveling the world can be quite the adventure! You get to see amazing new places, history, new people, and make experiences that will last a lifetime.
Help me give my students a trip around the world through books.
With this project, the students will get a chance to see what libraries are like in other countries, how people from other countries deal with the everyday obstacles in life including money, and discover new places that they themselves might one day visit. It is said that a book is a dream you can hold in your hands. Help me show my students how big their dreams can be!
