Help me give my students an area rug for them to have a comfortable writing and group work area. This rug will allow them to work more comfortably and give them access to a better work environment.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm a 6th grade special education teacher for a 12:1 class at a Title I intermediate school located in Brooklyn, NY. I work with diverse students who struggle with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, ADD and language development. Most have developed a negative attitude towards schooI. I, along with the rest of the special education team at my school, fight every day to make learning a positive experience for these students. We want our students to gain a love for learning and look forward to coming to school every day.
My students are all very unique and require a lot of individualized learning techniques.
Each student has a different learning need, behavior management need and range of abilities. Most of my students struggle with reading and writing, which affects their learning in every class. I strive to make my students learning environment a positive and comfortable one for optimum growth. I attempt to teach through engaging materials that keep them interested and make learning fun.
My Project
This rug will be put in the classroom as a space for students to go to for independent reading and writing. It will also be used as a small group work area.
Having a comfortable place for my students to go to and do independent work will increase focus and work stamina.
Most of my students have ADD or ADHD, having a separate area for them to utilize will create a more flexible learning environment. The students are in the same room for a long period of time, so having different working areas is vital for production and will keep them engaged for a longer period of time.
