Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with students who have a hard time regulating their emotions sometimes. And I have the privilege of being able to help them when they are escalated or struggling. Whenever I work with kids, I like to make sure that their basic needs are met regarding their sleep, thirst, and hunger.

It is incredible how the power of a 15 minute rest time or a snack can cause a student to turn their whole day around and continue to do want is so important, which is learning.

People are concerned about the behaviors in school, but a sleeping mat and snacks are real ways to help with this dysregulation. Their physical and emotional needs are easier to meet. Some of our parents are trying and working, but their hours are really early in the morning or late, which is sometimes why students may not get enough sleep. With these snacks, we will be able to start August 2024 on the right track!
