My students are driven, determined, and dedicated. I have the privilege of working with gifted and talented students K-5th grade. I'm so excited to be able to facilitate their learning as they take the wheel! My students are creative, motivated and love a challenge.
My students love to problem solve, have an insatiable curiosity and are critical thinkers.
My students need continuous opportunities to explore and create. My desire is to provide learning experiences for them to grow and reach their goals.
My students are introduced to some difficult concepts. My gifted and talented curriculum provides enrichment to the core subjects.
In 5th grade we learn about circuits and electricity as well as genetics and DNA.
These hand-on materials will help enforce these concepts.
Students will have the opportunity to create various types of circuits. They will learn about open and closed circuits and types of conductors. This Electricity tub will provided all the necessary materials to create circuits along with activity cards and challenges. I borrowed this kit from another teacher last year and my students loved it! I knew I had to get my own!
We also learn about genetics and DNA. Genetics is a difficult concept to grasp. This KNEX DNA kit will give students the hands on experience of building a DNA model. It will be engaging as they have to create the model using their knowledge about the DNA strand. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the concept. I know it will be a valuable experience that will make abstract concepts more concrete.
The Kanoodle game can be used for all grade levels. We utilize stations and brain breaks in our classroom. This Kanoodle game will continue to challenge and engage them. I know they will be fighting over this game to get a turn to play!
