As a Title I Teacher my goal is to keep the students motivated in school. Although our town is small and our school only has 200 students in it. We can make an impact on their education and life by using motivating resources from Lakeshore. My students long for competition and having fun while being correct and seeing that they have learned. Using the Getting Ready for Kindergarten products will ensure they will have fun and reinforce what they have been taught. Many of my students come from a low income setting and love it when new items appear in the classroom. Their eyes light up with anticipation and excitement to know what they will be doing with the new product. Even though we might not have the newest buildings or the most expensive houses, our kids are just like all others....they want to learn and have fun doing it. Lakeshore products are a great way to reteach my kids.
My Project
Being a Title One Reading and Math Resource teacher, my job is to re-teach material that the students have been taught. I am constantly finding new and exciting ways to teach them material that they find difficult to comprehend. the Getting Ready for First Grade resources will allow another way to assess what has been taught and allow me to see what needs to be re-taught. Knowing Lakeshore, these items will keep my students attention in a small group or individually. As a teacher I am always finding tools to help me re-teach criteria and engage them. These Lakeshore Getting Ready for Kindergarten resources will be used as a station while I am teaching other students in a small group. Lakeshore materials are always easy for my students to use and they have great fun when they use them.

Kids love them and don't think of their products as learning but as playing a game. I know that having these products in my classroom will allow my students to be successful in the next grade. Not only will these products be used with my students but with the entire school building. When a teacher knows their students are prepared for the next year we can say "Job Well Done!"
