Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With students potentially home for the start of the upcoming school year, emotions have been all over and many are struggling to accept the loss of physically going to school. Our students are home with limited resources, many visiting school sponsored food trucks for weekday breakfast and lunch. Books, creative materials, and basic supplies are unlikely to be available at their homes.

My Project

These 100 architecture books will accompany sketchbooks, pencils, and pencil sharpeners to create an at-home drawing kit for each of my fourth-grade students. With limited creative resources at home, each student will have resources to observe and draw during live drawing sessions, then continue to practice with their at-home supplies.

Students will be able to travel the world with these architecture books.

Giving students hope through these architecture books will help expand their small world during our quarantine. Students will be able to make connections to places they may have been, places they may have family living now, and places they want to see, thus instilling hope, inspiration, and drive to work hard.
