Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being in an urban setting, the majority of my students are from lower income families. While this does not make them any less capable of doing the work needed for academic success, there are some materials that they will not be able to afford.

My students use the perspective they have form their own lives and place it upon the unique diversity of American History.

They begin to understand that this country's history is not one that is built on one group, but contrived of a large number of individuals from a multitude of backgrounds, just like themselves.

My Project

The Advanced Placement United States History exam is extremely challenging. High school students need all the help they can in not only learning the curriculum, but also the make up of the test itself.

A score of a 5 on the APUSH is accepted as class credit in most universities, giving our economically challenged students a boost in their college career.

The AMSCO book is designed to help students take the test, emphasizing the skills needed to achieve the best score on the newly redesigned exam. The AP United States History is a class that benefits from the use of a multitude of source materials. One textbook alone does not provide enough information for students, they need as many sources as possible to truly grasp the complexities of history. Different authors interpret events in different ways, the more perspectives students are exposed to, the more equipped they are at providing information on the events that shaped the United States.
