Our students are unbelievably creative and, as a result, unbelievably messy when they create! They have been hard at work learning about different materials and new artmaking techniques.
I want to give my students the focus they need to think critically and the freedom to explore new techniques.
Unfortunately, new-- and often messier--techniques result in stains on clothing that sometimes wash out and sometimes do not wash out. To prevent ruined clothing and upset parents, we NEED some large-size aprons. Our first and second graders have aprons that fit their tiny bodies but I'm sad to say that the larger aprons are just too costly to purchase with my allotted supply budget.
My 3rd through 6th grade students are just learning how to paint and apply basic painting techniques. They should be able to focus on their learning, NOT what might happen when they go home with paint stains on their school uniform.
My 7th-12th grade students are being introduced to an entirely student-led curriculum. This means lots of choice and exploration with materials. I am excited to see the new painting techniques they come up with when they can focus on their ideas, instead of worrying about getting paint on their clothing.
Please help our students focus on critical thinking and creating in the art room instead of the worry and stress of stained clothing!
