This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in my Crafts and Ceramics 1&2 classes often do things that are messy and at times hazardous. At the current moment, our classroom has four sets of safety goggles that are useable and three aprons that are shared amongst classes of 24 students.
Having more aprons and safety glasses will allow for the protection of my students' clothes and eyes during certain projects.
With such units as glass arts where students create stained glass and mosaics, safety goggles are necessary to protect their eyes from glass shards when cutting and shaping glass. Additionally, the aprons can be worn to protect their clothing during ceramics when clay and glaze can get on their clothing.
