My Students
Our school is an IB World school that helps provide differentiated learning in all subject areas! I have an amazing 1st grade class of 23 students. Each day they strive to become more knowledgeable by completing the day to day activities in our classroom. In our classroom we do a variety of activities that involve hands on and technology based learning. They are a very energetic and fun loving group of kids who enjoy learning during their stations, especially while using technology.
My Project
The students in our classroom need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, spelling and phonetics to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore their ability through spelling, making letters and sounds, and then words. These activities will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day as we read and write while learning together. The students will use the OSMO Wonder kit while practicing their sight words. I am able to assign specific sight words for the students for them to practice their reading. The students will use the Tiggly words during centers to practice their spelling and word recognition. Some of the words are hard, so this may be a challenge for a few students, but a challenge that I know they will succeed at.
They will be able to use these manipulatives during our Learning Center time because they are directly used for apps that we will have on our classroom iPads, learning letters and sounds as they make words.
