The students in our classroom need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, spelling and phonetics to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore their ability through spelling, making letters and sounds, and then words. These activities will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day as we read and write while learning together. The students will use the OSMO Wonder kit while practicing their sight words. I am able to assign specific sight words for the students for them to practice their reading. The students will use the Tiggly words during centers to practice their spelling and word recognition. Some of the words are hard, so this may be a challenge for a few students, but a challenge that I know they will succeed at. They will be able to use these manipulatives during our Learning Center time because they are directly used for apps that we will have on our classroom iPads, learning letters and sounds as they make words. Your generous donation to our project will improve our first grade classroom by building a stronger reader and speller. This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning!
