My Students
I am writing on behalf of my classroom made up of 6 extremely social and sweet students with disabilities. I feel so grateful and privileged to work with these incredible students each day. They are thoughtful, intuitive, bright, and personable. These students live in a low socio-economic district and often miss out on many interactive experiences life-skills based activities.
My students are often described as disabled, but I choose to see them as capable of anything!
The students are very engaged in academics and always give their best effort, regardless of any difficult circumstances they face. They take initiative to complete assignments and want to learn skills that will ultimately make them the best versions of themselves. Each student has a fun and vibrant personality and it makes each day so enjoyable.
My Project
My students are learning to be independent and learn more about cooking and managing money. We have created a work site where students bake and sell treats each week to sell to our school. Students create weekly flyers to advertise our product of the week. Students then create grocery lists and shop for ingredients needed. Students then bake our products and they sell to our school every Friday!
This fridge will help students store ingredients from week to week and ensure food safety!
Students have already had so many great learning opportunities and enjoy cooking so much. Help my students learn valuable life skills and support our own student-run work site!
