Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My new students are a very diverse group with home languages of Spanish, Vietnamese, Laotian, English, and more! We are a Title One school with many of my students coming from low-income homes and sadly, my students are also living in a very hard hit area for COVID.

With many of our school laptops missing or damaged, I am wanting to provide a way for my students to still have interactive, engaging lessons using technology in our classroom by having a 1:1 ratio of iPad to a student.

This is going to be a very unique year for learning and I want to do everything I can to provide a learning experience with safety as a top priority.

I want my students to feel comfortable and safe using the tools at school. I want my students to also feel and know that I have their best interests and concerns in mind.

My Project

With our schools adapting constantly to changes in mandates, we are needing to ensure that supplies are available, ready, and working when students are able to be in the classroom. These iPads will be used to help students continue their skills practice in math and language arts as well as coding and technology in the classroom. With these iPads, my students will not be impacted by broken or missing laptops from remote learning. They will have all that they need in the classroom to help minimize the disruptions from these uncertain and frustrating times.
