My Students

I absolutely love my job teaching first grade in DPS! This is my 11th year teaching in the district. These kids make coming to work everyday easy. Our district is one of the most diverse districts in Arkansas. According to the census report, our district’s poverty rate is 22% for children under 18. Almost 60% of our communities household income is under $50,000. In the primary school alone, approximately 43% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. These students have my whole heart, and I strive to keep them up to date with the latest technology so that they can be better equipped for the ever changing technology in today’s world.

My Project

These iPads will help my students learn about the latest technology while taking them “outside” the classroom to explore and learn. This will help my students with their detailed research that they love to do every year! My students can do virtual tours of zoos, museums, etc. The possibilities are endless! We also do state testing on iPads or chrome books. Having these newest iPads will help with testing! Most students at this age group are more confident with iPads! Students will also be able to use apps that are approved by me to work on many different educational skills! By donating to my project, you will help improve and increase student attention and focus, and you will ultimately help to increase their education!
