This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have such an amazing class. My students are very talented and are very eager to learn. In our district, we believe in students being college and career ready. We know that this begins as early as elementary school. My students have high hopes for the future. One big challenge with my students is the difference in high and low. I have high students, low and on level students. This makes it makes it difficult to help all students succeed.
Since many of my students are very interested in technology, I want to use technology to help my students improve.
I have a high energy group that is very involved with each other. They work well together and individually. My students are also highly motivated and are capable of working independently when given the chance. They truly care for each other and help each other. This is a little bit about my awesome class!
My Project
Since many things in education are prescribed, engaging students can be a challenging tasks. Teachers are faced with the challenge to motivate their students and I want to help differentiate my instruction to help all my students. We have made adjustments as a school to tackle this difficult task. We are increasing the use of technology to keep students motivated and to help them learn by hands on practice. An Apple TV proves useful to approach this. Teachers can connect their own technology to an Apple TV and use different education websites and apps to engage students.
An Apple TV will allow the students to demonstrate their work to the class.
I can go around and take picture of students' work and put it up instantly. This will allow the class to see immediate examples of actual student work. It will also allow students to get more individualized attention because I will be able to roam around the classroom while working on assignments. With a class of 24 third graders this is very helpful.
