This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn with technology. The challenge is that there are not enough iPads for my students to share. With the Apple TV, all my students will be able to enjoy the educational apps on my iPads.

My school is a small, Title I school.

The funds are so limited, there is not much technology available for my students. Not even one iPad is available for student use. I bring my personal iPads from home daily for my students to learn with technology. A lot of my Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students qualify for the reduced price or free lunch program. Many students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language. My Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students come to school eager to learn each day.

My Project

With an Apple T.V., remote and cable, I can use Apple T.V. to project my iPad screen on to our Smart board. This will allow me to effectively show students how to manipulate a specific application. There are some wonderful writing and phonics apps that I've been having my students to work on for a while. If I could show it on the Smart board, everyone will be able to see it for daily practice. When students are sharing their work with the class, they can connect to the Apple T.V. and the whole class will be able to see their work while the student describes it. I can also use Apple T.V. to facilitate center activities. While I am teaching a small group, I can have another small group using the iPads for a task. While students are working in the iPad center they can connect to the Apple T.V. and show me what they are working on. This will allow me to continue working with my small group of students and keeps the other students on task.

Apple TV will be a wonderful addition to our learning experience.

I love that this will give me a chance to impact student lives in a big and meaningful way. Please consider helping me to further impact their lives with Apple T.V.
