it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

~ Abbe Dement, Art of Thinking, 1928. We are in a new century where technology like, laptops, iPad, tablets even an iPod is just one more resource my students need to know how to use.
I have 22 enthusiastic kindergarten and 22 second grade after school tutoring students who need to be ready for the world of technology and to be challenged.
I am a greedy teacher because I want my students to get all the benefits on how to use technology. My school is Title 1 and my students have no access to technology at home. I want to give my students the opportunity to know how fun it can be to use an iPod and the iPad to help them read, write, and count using the latest technology.
My Project
Having the iPod and iPad I will be able to enhance all aspects of my curriculum kindergarten students. During center time my students can practice recognizing letter sounds, sight words and even building letters to make a word. My students will work in pairs and they can say a letter to the sounds and they will be able to hear for themselves what they need to do to become a good reader. Kindergarten is the foundation to learn phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. What better way to practice that skill than on an iPod. A new iPad and its many learning applications will help my students practice their reading and math skills. My students will also be able to read electronic books, watch educational videos, and learn to type.
