This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a 6th-grade self-contained classroom.. My students are very tactile and also benefit from technological aids and assistance. They are very distractible, however when they are involved and focused on an activity or lesson plan, they exhibit great enthusiasm.
My students all learn in very different ways and present a number of challenges socially and emotionally as well as academically.
I teach English Language Arts as well as Social Studies.
My Project
The Apple Magic Keyboard and mouse makes the iPad function like a laptop. The keyboard and trackpad option is a huge bonus for teaching and working with my students.
The Apple Magic Keyboard and mouse will turn the classroom iPad into the perfect companion for teaching and learning.
The Apple Magic Keyboard and mouse will help the students use the classroom iPad for word processing, creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations, and make interacting with other learning apps more productive. Adding a physical keyboard to the iPad increases each student's ability to type quicker. When the iPad on-screen keyboard is activated, half of the screen is gone. The Magic Keyboard allows the students to see the entire screen while typing. When the students use an app like Google Docs, being able to see more of the screen is a huge feature. The Magic Keyboard and mouse are ergonomically more comfortable for the students when they are working for longer periods of time. The Apple Magic Keyboard is also easy to remove when the students want to just use the iPad as a tablet.
