This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in an area where most students come from low-income homes. We are a Title I school, meaning our students are labeled as economically disadvantaged. They are a group who enjoys interactive learning and they are extremely active.
This group of students has a love for learning and they are soaked into activities that challenge them and present new things.
They are eager to begin new learning adventures. Their daily motivation and enthusiasm drives learning in the classroom. This year more than half of my students do not have access to technology in their home.
My Project
Students love to engage in critical thinking math and science activities. They get excited with immediate feedback and they like apps that are animated and bring on challenges. Students will use the Ipad to work independently to increase math fluency skills and problem solving strategies. The students will also use apps that will engage them in robotics and STEM activities.
Having an ipad in the classroom will bring life to the Science and Engineering projects we are working on in the classroom and will give students experiences that they do not have access to in their homes.
Funding for this project will give students experience with 21st Century technology skills. Students will gain confidence in technology use while having this ipad added to our class.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
