Help our classroom gain the iPad technology we need to help make our literacy centers more meaningful and dynamic! My students will benefit from the technology that is lacking in their classroom. Coming from a rural district a lot of my students have yet to touch an iPad.
I teach an amazing group of students at a rural school district.
My students are energetic, vibrant, and ready to learn. Together we run a busy and empowering classroom where my students are constantly challenged. I want to expand on their love of learning and I want to provide them with the latest in technology to help them perform to their fullest potential.
My students are respectful, kind, and loving of one another. They care about their learning and about the learning of others. They know the importance of their school and they value the community that they come from. Any addition to upgrade their classroom, their learning environment, would be greatly appreciated by them as well as their community.
My Project
My students are learning how to read. To accomplish this important task, I have provided them with a learning environment that is safe and free from judgment or boundaries. We run daily reading group rotations to provide the best possible instruction to the students in a small group, differentiated format.
To accomplish these groups, and still keep a small number of students in each one, I need to have a group of kids working independently. My goal is to hopefully have six iPADS in the classroom so that my students would have a motivating, dynamic literacy center that could "run itself" without relying on "busy work" to do so.
The boundary that I have encountered is that being a rural district we do not have the proper funding to make this happen. I am asking that my students be given the same opportunities as children in more prosperous areas to better make each and every minute of their instructional time meaningful.
If my classroom was provided with iPad technology, my students would immediately benefit.
The very next day we would have a literacy center center set up for my independent reading group with language arts materials downloaded and ready to go! I have already researched the proper tools to use and those tools would be at my students' fingertips ready to enhance their learning and emphasize their capabilities.
