This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What can I say about my students? They are great kids. These students come from backgrounds that are a little rougher than what most people are used to. Some students don't have a responsible person to get them up in the morning. They have to do it themselves.

Some of my students don't have anyone to help them at home with their homework.

Others wait hours in an empty house for someone to come home after school. I compare them to a bottle of soda that has been shaken. Will it explode when I open it? What am I getting when my students walk through my door each morning? Are they going to explode? How have they been shaken before they have come to school each day.

Regardless of what they have going on at home, they always seem to work hard for me. They really want to do well. My students are proud of themselves when they accomplish their goals.

My Project

Technology is an important part of education in today's world. Students are able to watch and participate in instant lessons on tablets. They are able to complete assignments I give to them independently while I am working with other students. I can enrich them with a little harder material or I can reinforce what I have taught in class with a little extra help.

My students love working on an iPad!!

Many of them don't have an opportunity to use one at home in their free time. Having them in my classroom would bring an exciting opportunity for my students to expand their learning through technology.
